Q1: What is the difference between the M Cross and the M Plus mask?
The main difference between M Plus mask and the M Cross mask is their construction and appearance. Their filtration of 99.4% particulates, dust, pollen, etc. is the same.
A- M Cross mask is designed with an adjustable elastic strap used to wear at the top of the head, so as to release the pressure/ pain in your nose/ ears.
B- M Cross mask is designed with a slim adjustable elastic back strap compared with the M Plus mask, so as to reduce the coverage of the backstrap around your neck and avoid heat around the neck during hot Summer.
Q2: What should I use my mask for?
You can find BASE CAMP Masks conquering particulates on job sites, woodworking shops, gardening, travel, and so many other uses!
Q3: What should I not use my mask for?
Our masks are not recommended for use against silica, asbestos, lead, arsenic, cadmium, 4,4-methylene (MDA), abrasive blasting or any other toxic and/or dangerous substances.
Q4: Will the mask fog my glasses?
As long as you have the proper mask fit and have adjusted the nose piece to seal the breathable face mask around your nose. It will prevent fogging. Make you get rid of the concerns of glasses fogging while working.
Note: While the design of our dust mask makes every effort to prevent fogging in your glasses, we cannot promise 100% not fogging.
Q5: Are the mask BPA-free?
Our masks are BPA and lead-free.
Q6: Is the mask NIOSH approved?
BASE CAMP masks with filters have been independently tested at Nelson Laboratories in Salt Lake City, UT, and tested with 99.4% efficiency.
The test method complies with ASTM F2101-14 standard, testing was performed in compliance with US FDA good manufacturing practice (GMP) regulations 21 CFR Parts 210, 211, and 820.
The 6-layer filters are with Advanced Nanotechnology and EAPI filter technology.

Q7: Do the filters need to be replaced, and if so, how often?
Yes, the activated carbon filters need to be replaceable after the time of usage.
The life expectancy of the BASE CAMP Filter depends on many variables, such as; particulate exposure density, particulate exposure duration, and user breathing rate. With that said, below are our general guidelines as the user will have the final call to give your exposure.
+ 20-30+hours of continuous use in heavy dust exposure to things such as grain bins, off-roading, construction/demolition, etc.
+ 30-40+hours of continuous use in light dust exposure to things such as grain bins, off-roading, construction/demolition, etc.
+ 50-60+hours of continuous use when protecting against allergens, pollutants, odors, etc.
Q8: Do I need to replace the valves?
Valves only need to be replaced if they become damaged or if a piece goes missing. They can be detachable to wash by hand when getting dirty.
Q9: Can the mask be washed?
The mesh face mask shell can be detachable to wash by hand when getting dirty. We recommend hand washing the shell with hand soap and warm water. Allow the mask to dry completely after washing before reinstalling the filter.
Q10: What is the"AEB" system(included in the package of M Plus Mask) for?
"AEB System" that can be used to work with BASE CAMP M Plus mask, to
A: help fix the mask in place without slipping off from your face/head even if you're moving;
B: to help release the pressure/pain in your nose and ears.
Tips: the AEB System can be adjusted to a suitable length or position for a mask that snugly fits your face.
Q11: How should I wash my C14 cloth face mask and how often?
Wash before first use. Wash your cloth mask whenever it gets dirty or at least daily. Comes with 2 or 3 masks so that you can easily replace a dirty mask with a clean one.
Here are care instructions for reference:
Gentle Hand wash, soak in lukewarm water with gentle detergent, soap for washing, rinse with clean water.
Do not fold the nose wire completely in half repeatedly when washing, or it will cause the nose wire to break.
Do not tumble dry or dry clean.
Do not rub brush or wring.
Do not use antiseptic detergents or bleach.
Q12: Where are your masks made?
BASE CAMP series of products are made in China.

Q13: Will your masks protect against viruses and/ or other pathogens?
Our filter blocks 99.4% of particulates down to .1 micron. This rate is known to be effective toward most airborne pathogens.
Please be aware that our M Plus and M Cross masks only filter the air being breathed in and not the air being breathed out. Because of this, they will only provide filtration for those wearing the mask. If you believe you have been infected, our masks will not protect those around you from the spread of infection. There are multiple ways the COVID-19 virus can be contracted, and we recommend following all prevention measures provided by the CDC and WHO.
